Ms. Hauptmann’s practice concentrates on the defense of liability and worker’s compensation claims. Ms. Hauptmann routinely represents clients before the Maryland District, Circuit, and appellate courts, the D.C. Superior and appellate courts, the Maryland Workers’ Compensation Commission, the District of Columbia Office of Workers’ Compensation Programs, the Administrative Hearings Division, and the Compensation Review Board.
Some of Ms. Hauptmann’s principal clients include: Arrowpoint Capital Corporation, Darden Restaurants, Inc., Selective Insurance, Enstar US, Inc., DavCo Restaurants, Inc., Tradesmen International, Cannon Cochran Management Services, and Atlantic Mutual Insurance Company. Ms. Hauptmann especially enjoys advising and representing self-insured clients. Ms. Hauptmann takes a great deal of pride in the close relationships with her self-insured clients, especially in the development and progress of risk management activities.
Ms. Hauptmann and her partners are also designated Maryland
and Washington, D.C. counsel for Fireman's Fund Insurance
Company. In that capacity, Ms. Hauptmann represents Fireman’s
Fund’s insureds in a variety of matters such
as auto tort, slip and fall, diminution in value, premises liability,
lead paint, and insurance agent professional liability claims.
Ms. Hauptmann has been with the firm since 2000 and was named partner on January 1, 2010.
