Robert C. Morgan is a founding member and the firm’s managing partner. He has served Maryland and the surrounding communities as a counselor and civil litigator for more than 30 years.

Robert Morgan is an experienced civil trial attorney who has represented a variety of professionals, business entities, and health care institutions. He regularly advises his health care clients regarding risk management, medical staff structure, credentialing, and disciplinary issues. In addition, Mr. Morgan has lectured extensively on a variety of health law, litigation, and risk management topics.

Mr. Morgan is routinely retained for complex cases involving serious personal injury and most of his cases involve the retention of expert witnesses in various scientific and occupational fields. Some of Mr. Morgan’s principal clients include Carroll Hospital Center, OMS/NIC, Fortress, and the Alliance of Nonprofits for Insurance (ANI). Mr. Morgan has tried all varieties of civil cases at all court levels in Maryland. Mr. Morgan’s representative appellate cases include:

Alleco Inc. v. Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Foundation, Inc., 340 Md. 176, 665 A.2d 1038 Md. (1995) and

Nationwide Mut. Ins. Co. v. Stroh, 314 Md. 176, 550 A.2d 373 Md. (1988).

Mr. Morgan also continues to have noteworthy successes in litigation and at trial. In a Baltimore City case, Mr. Morgan was able to persuade the Plaintiff to dismiss his client from a claim where a patron fell through a railing in a bar and was paralyzed -- a multi-million dollar verdict was returned against the remaining defendant. Mr. Morgan obtained a defense verdict in a Frederick County jury trial of an oral surgeon alleged to have missed a diagnosis of oral cancer resulting in the death of a 39 year old man. A jury in Carroll County returned a defense verdict in favor of a surgeon Mr. Morgan represented in a claim involving a patient who died nine days after colon resection. Mr. Morgan successfully defended an obstetrician against a claim of negligent delivery resulting in significant and permanent brain damage before a jury in the Circuit Court for Prince George’s County, Maryland. Mr. Morgan successfully defended an Annapolis obstetrician against claims of permanent maternal injury as a result of a shoulder dystocia at birth. A Baltimore County jury returned a verdict in favor of the obstetrician in charge of delivering a child with a shoulder dystocia presentation who suffered a permanent brachial plexus injury significantly impairing the use of her right arm. A jury in the United States District Court at Baltimore returned a verdict in favor of the hospital that Mr. Morgan represented in a case involving permanent and significant nerve injury after administration of an epidural anesthesia.

Mr. Morgan participates in a variety of community activities including the Baltimore County High School Mock Trial Competition and as a member and President of a local parochial school board.
